Isn't it sad when you ask a question and it's not answered?
You know what's much sadder?
Killing the habit of asking the question.
Like billions of other busy consumers, you've likely held some important
questions throughout your life and have been episodically curious about
a multitude of deep things.
If you've been lucky, you've answered the ones you asked with
greater urgency. But it's too likely many of your questions pertaining a
complex world you do not understand but still ineract with, affect,
and take from, will go unanswered.
This is our lifestyle.
We buy, we use, we throw away, we go to and fro, we pass by
this giant ecosystem swearing to ourselves that we'll have had nothing to do with it once
we're done and gone.
We need not learn it. We need not understand it. Oh, sure, it would be nice to,
but every time we've made the efforts, we are met with so many barriers that we put it off
for an indefinite time, a habit that has become a gateway to total abandonment of
our curiosity.
But not knowing and being ignorant doesn't stop us from eating and spending and wasintg and opining and commenting.
We pull levers, we push buttons, and we work blisfully divorced from the abuse and inhumanity that may be involved
in getting us where we are on any given day. We are happy to be clueless about the consequences of keeping us alive and fat.
This site exists because I've decided I will not be a part of this culture anymore.
Through cults, propaganda, sabotage, and general abuse from those who were
supposed to take care of me and educate me (in theory), I have been deprived of the glorious
beauty that is getting to understand the universe I inhabit and feeling I made a tangible
contribution to the good things of the world and humanity.
This is my journey to be of good consequence. This is my journey to not be taken advantage of anymore.
This is my journey to help others do the same, to learn, to make better decisions, and to prioritize
decreasing the suffering we're all responsible for.
This is my journey to free myself from the tyranny of ignorance.
This is my journey to understand before I die.
It's impossible to go on this journey alone. It will only be possible if others accompany me.
If you are one of those people, what I do promise you is that, whatever happens,
you wil learn something new, freeing, and that will make you better fit to conceive of a world
that is intentionally being mystified so that you'll forever stay helpess.
